The Month of the Prophet [Peace Be Upon Him ]

The month of Sha’baan is the 8th month of the Islamic calendar and the month in which the holy night of Shab-e-Baraat is celebrated. In Persian it is called 'Laielatul Mubaarakah' and in Urdu, it is called 'Shab-e Baraa’at'. (Night of forgiveness) …….the fifteenth night of Sha'baan.

The entire Month of Sha’baan is Blessed, with Numerous Blessing, and Spirituals Advancement. As it is the month of Prophet Muhammad (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam) Hazrat Abu Huraira (Radi Allaahu-Anhu) has reported that Prophet (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam) has said:
“Rajab is the month of Allaah Ta’aala, Sha’baan is my month and Ramadan is the month of my Ummah. In Sha’baan sins are forgiven by Allaah Ta’aala and in Ramadan my people are completely purified from sins.”
There are many Hadees of Prophet Muhammad (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam) in which he described the Virtue and Blessings of this month.
Sha’baan is also an introduction to Ramadan and it has same things in common with Ramadan, such as fasting, reciting Holy Quran and giving in charity. It has been narrated that upon the arrival of Rajab the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam) used to pray

O’ Allaah! Bless us abundantly in Rajab and Sha’baan and deliver us safely unto Ramadan.”

Blessing Of Fasting…

Upon the Arrival of the Sha'baan moon, in numerous blessings are showered upon us. Blessings are initiated which progressively escalate so that by mid-Sha'baan the blessings have reached a considerable amount and finally such blessings reach their peak by the end of Ramadaan.
The Prophet Muhammad (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam) has said :“Shabaan has superiority over other months as I have superiority over all the Prophet’s [Alaiehis-Salaam.]
The Prophet (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam) also said, “Between Rajab and Ramadan there is the blessed month of Shabaan.People are not aware of it. The actions of men are presented to Allaah Ta’aala in this month.
Therefore I like to fast when my actions are presented to Allaah Ta’aala.”
Hadees Shareef
Narrated by
Ummul Mu’mineen Hazrat Aa‘ishah Siddeeqah (Radiyal Allaahu Ta’aalaa ‘Anhaa)
The Prophet Muhammad (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam)
used to fast the whole of Sha’baan. I said to him, ‘Messenger of Allaah, is Sha’baan your most favorite month for fasting?’ He said, ‘In this month Allaah prescribes the list of the persons dying this year. Therefore, I like that my death comes when I am in a state of fasting.”
[Ibn Asakir, Tafsir ad-Dar al-Manthur]
In another Hadees our Beloved Prophet (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam) has said
“When the blessed month of Shaaban reaches you, it cleanses your spirit to receive the blessed month of Ramadan. Be mindful, Shaaban is my month and anyone who keeps fast in it, my intercession will be waajib for him.

Meaning of the Month of Shabaan
abdul qadir jeelani

 Hazrat Ghaus-us-Saqaalain Shaah-e-Jeelaanee Ghaus e Azaam
(Rahmatul Laahi ‘Alaieh)
on Sha’baan:
The word Sha’baan [in the Arabic script] is spelt with five letters: sheen, ‘aiyn, baa’, alif and nuun. And Ghaus e Azaam (Rahmatul Laahi ‘Alaieh) says the Sheen stands for Shaaraf [nobility], the ‘Aiyen for ‘Uluww [sublimity], the Baa’ for Birr [piety], Alif for Ulfaa [harmonious intimacy], and the Nuun for Nuur [radiant light].

These are the gifts from Allaah  Kareem (Exalted is He) to His servant in this month. It is a month in which treasures are laid open, in which blessings are sent down, in which faults are forsworn, in which sins are expiated, and in which benedictions are multiplied upon our Beloved Prophet Muhammad
(Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam)the best of human creatures and on his ummah.
