A’HAADEES AND EID

Um mul Mu’mineen Hazrat Aa‘ishah Siddeeqah
 [Radiyal Allaahu Ta’aalaa ‘Anhaa]
narrated that the Beloved Prophet Muhammad
[Sallal Laahu 'Alaiehi Wa Sallam]
have said:
“For every nation there is a feast and this Eid is our feast.”
Hadees, [Saheeh Al-Bukhaari]
Traditionally, following the Sunnah of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad [Sallal Laahu 'Alaiehi Wa Sallam] on the 29th of Ramaadan after sunset, people go out in the open in the western world, or the roof top in the eastern world looking for a new crescent in the western horizon where the sun sets.
If the crescent is sighted, the end of Ramaadan and Eid are declared. If the crescent is not sighted, Ramaadan is extended by one day.
As much as Eid is a time of rejoicing, it is also a time of giving and sharing with those less fortunate and needy.
Allaah Subhanahu Wa Taala says in the Noble Qur'aan:
"By no means shall you attain to righteousness until you spend (benevolently) out of what you love; and whatever thing you spend, Allaah surely knows it."
Qur’aan
Allaah Kareem the Most High said:
"Those who spend their wealth by Night and Day, in secret and in public, shall have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear nor shall they Grieve."
[ Soorah Baqaarah: Qur’aan]
“The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allaah, is as the likeness of a grain [of corn]; it grows seven ears, and each ear is a hundred grains. Allaah gives manifold increase to whom he pleases.”
[Soorah Al-Baqarah Qur’aan]
“And whatsoever you spend of anything [in the cause of Allaah], He will replace it. He is the Best of those who grants sustenance.”
[Soorah Sabaa ‘ Al Qur’aan]
The Holy Prophet [Sallal Laahu 'Alaiehi Wa Sallam] would always be the first to greet, help, the poor and the orphans.
The Prophet Muhammad [peace be upon him] have said:
"And your smiling in the face of your brother is charity, your removing of stones and thorns from people's paths is charity, and your guiding a man gone astray in the world is charity for you."
